We begin each interior spread with loose pencil thumbnail sketches, exploring composition, pacing, and how the text and illustrations will live together on the page. These early sketches allow me to test page turns, balance white space, and guide the reader’s eye naturally through the story. From there, the strongest layouts are refined, ensuring the text remains clear and age-appropriate while the artwork enhances the narrative without overwhelming it. This thoughtful process helps create interior pages that feel cohesive, engaging, and inviting for young readers.
